Custom player models requiring "Models/players/xx"

Ok I recently started to make a small collection of custom player models for my daughters enjoyment. Her current favourite is the rather annoying Sonic model ... but hey ... it get's her playing the game.

Anyway, I noticed a couple of the models didn't appear in the player setup menu. Two examples of this would be the DK2-Reaper model and the Harley-Quinn model. That was until I added the following folders to my baseq3 folder.

models/player/harley & models/player/reaper

& volia!! the models now appear in the setup menu.

Anyone have any idea why this is or what could be causing it. If I remove the folders the models don't appear in the player setup menu and there is no error message as to why in the console.

Any suggestions on how to fix this in the pk3s would be greatful. I know I'm just being picky.

Thanks in advance.

ok just to add to this.....

I just tried taking a pk3 file for one model that doesn't require the "models/players/xx" folder, extracting all the files and then adding them to a new pk3 using winzip (I was thinking of using Riddla's idea of making a megapak - for personal use on my home lan) and the model just doesn't appear at all using the new pk3.

Both pk3's are the exact same size, both sets of files in the pk3's have the same pathnames and the same compression ratios. Yet if I add the models/playersxx folder the model appears with the new pk3.

I'm totally stumped by this. Ideas appreciated.
