Looking for drugs. ( legal)

I have a friend with serious back problems. She cant afford insurance or a doctor at this time, but her back pain is so crippling, that she cant even move when it hits.

Now i heard you can buy from canada, from in the US where i live, but im wondering just how legal it is and if anyone has ever tried it. What she needs is called lortab/hydrocodone i think.

Really any info to lead me in the right direction to help this person would be sweet.

To the mods, if this post is out of line in anyway, i appoligize and feel free to lock and/or delete

if you want to just e-mail me, you can at iccanui@gmail.com

Thnx

Threads like this make me thankful for the NHS, shit as it is.

I can't offer any advice, but I hope your friend is ok and eventually gets the treatment she needs.

If her back pain is that cripping, surely she can afford a couple of sessions with a chiropractor?

or a visit to a real doctor?

For some people money is a issue. This is one of those people.

Again, insurance and money.

I dont know if your from the US. But these things cost quite a lot here. And for a person thats in a bind, these things arent a option.

i bet next time she'll be able to "afford" insurance.

Cut her a break. She is a lawyer with a heart, taking on mostly pro bono and people that cant afford her sometimes, so she will finish for free at times. She has the heart of the size of the grand canyon, i dont know if you can understand what it takes from you to give to people like that, but its a lot and she deserves some help cause no one ever helps her, yet she keeps giving. Its hard to relate to across the internet, but bottomline is she needs help and deserves it.

i'm sure she needs help, but dude, if you're even HALFway interested in your well-being, you'd have insurance no matter what.

I agree. I subsribe to the take care of yourself first theory. I mean if you cant take care of yourself, how can you help anyone. She will run herself into the ground helping people and apprently she did.

Guess thats where i come in.

Hehe, that is like the classic story for about every hydro addict out there...not saying that's the case here iccy, but she's going to have a tough time selling that story.

In canada she can get those 222s that are a bit of acetaminophen and codeine or something, codeine is much weaker than hydro. they aren't very potent though if she is having severe pain.
And here's a quick summary of pain stuff -

Codeine is weak in terms of narcotic pain management, its most common in shit like tylenol 3.

Hydrocodone is a couple steps up in terms of potency - most commonly known as vicodin. It is usually mixed with acetaminophen or ibuprofen depending on the formulation, and there are a variety of strengths. Lortabs are just hydrocodone and acetaminophen, I believe 7.5 mg of hydrocodone. Hydro is pretty addictive, and a hugely abused drug with millions of addicts out there scrounging around for pills and scrips online and other ways.

up from there you go to oxycodone - the active ingredient in percocet, oxycontin. Its more potent than hydrocodone, also a big source of abuse and addiction, and is can be in pills with just the narcotic - not mixed with acetaminophen or ibuprofen as hydro is. This is advantageous because for some people the ibuprofen or acetaminophen is hard on the liver/kidneys. This is a schedule 3 narcotic, which means docs can't phone in prescriptions for it here in the states, you have to physically visit the doc to get the scrip.

From there you go to your morphines, fentanyls, etc...the real heavy shit.

Hydro is not legal without a prescription. It used to be a big problem with all the online pharmacies that popped up selling it without prescriptions, although the prices were very high. Many doctors lost their license for prescribing hydro over the internet without ever seeing the patient.

But she's not going to find that shit cheap or free, and although she can get it without a scrip of she searches, that isn't a discussion that we probably want to have here. If warez discussions are a no no, methods of obtaining prescription meds without a scrip are definitely a no no too.

Her best bet is to see a doc. If she is that poor, there are all sorts of public assistance programs that will help her out. But I gaurantee that she's going to catch flack for a 'i need hydro for my back' story.

PM me if you have any detailed questions. Unfortunately I've got a lot of background in this stuff - both because I've had to be on and off pain meds for several years for the chronic kidney stones and the fucked neck and because I've had personal experiences with students who were full blown addicts. I have a relative who is a pharmacist that was held up last week by a hydro addict going through withdrawal...

Whatever happens, make sure this person knows that there is a potential dark side to these things...

What's the deal with seeing a General Practitioner in the US? It's free in Australia.

She can goto a cheap walk in only clinic, tell the DR her story, and she can get a script for pain meds..

30-80 bucks depending on how scummy of a place you go, and if you goto a super scummy place, the DRs might just not give a shit and write a script with little questioning..

Not free here. But there are clinics, etc, that will see you. And you can always check into an ER if you are in that bad of shape...they can't turn you away for lack of ability to pay (if its an emergency.)

The biggest problem the US medical system faces is ridiculously high costs for malpractice insurance for docs because there are so many people filing frivolous malpractice suits.

Yea, but docs are under increasing amounts of scrutiny for writing those scrips. And do you know what the cost of a bottle of hydo would be without insurance? A friend of mine had to pay $150 for a bottle of them at the pharmacy since he had no insurance.

It dont need to be hyrdos, she can get other pain killers that work just as well.

Also, theres generics, which are generally pretty damn cheap..

I dont have insurance either, and a bottle of generic pain killers (forget what brand they were generics of) cost me about 50 or 60 bucks.. Walgreens wins

yea, but based on her income, that 50 or 60 bucks is too high. I'm saying that even generics are going to be close to a buck a pill for the strong stuff.

if you've read the whole thread, iccy seems to imply that even $60 for a chiropracter (some of whom I wouldn't go to if my life depended on it) is too much.

If this lady really even needs these pills, I want to make sure he knows that she isn't going to be getting a bottle of these for the price of advil.

One of the cooks at the bar I used to work the door at still calls me frequently asking if I have any pills around for his 'back.' I've never given him any, which points to how persistent his problem must be...I think every time he runs out I'm the first person he thinks about calling...maybe he hopes once I'll cave. He just about offered me his house/wife/kids for a bottle of 240 15mg oxycodones.

:olo:

what an unbelievable story

why not simply find a doctor with a grand canyon heart to check out your "freind"

she sounds like she needs medical attention.

drugs wont cure whats up with her anyway

Like i said, we are just trying to help her through the pain, till surgery is a option. Didnt say anything about a cure.

Try reading the thread before blindly stabing next time.

Its a crack on her spine tnf. Its on her tailbone, in 3 spots and i think she has a hairline fracture on one or 2 of her lower vertabrates. Plus when you said doctor, i though something pricer. They are only 60 with no insurance?

But either way, she needs surgery. Just trying to make life not a living hell till its a option.
