stopping me from getting a job after I aced the interview is the drug test. I thought saliva tests only work if you've smoked in the last 24 hours.

I just read:

I smoked rougly 50-60 hours before the interview...less than 3 days. So I'm starting to lose some sleep over this. Should find out if I passed the test tomorrow or the next day.

The real kicker is I barely do any drugs. Sure I drink too much, but weed and coke are usually a once every month or two thing. Bad fucking timing, I didn't find out I had the interview until the day before; damage was already done.

Now they have no reason to do it again unless they're suspicious I'm high on the job.

What kind of job?

tbh it's a piece of shit 2 month gig doing customer service at one of the bigger local stores. Just something temporary while I'm living in a different state between college semesters.
The good thing about it is that if I do a good job, I'm guaranteed a spot next year at the same time. Also, this summer I have three friends working there as well. So I'll have people to dick around with and get paid for it.

I was stressed out about passing the drug test though because after the interview, the woman told me I was hired. She said she just had to wait for the results then would call me about training. So being the idiot that I am and not realizing that I may not pass the test, I told everyone I got the job. My friends, family, etc. So I was really stressing out that I would have go back and tell them that the reason I didn't get the job was because of the drug test.

The tests we have where I work give instant results.

With the saliva, they had to bottle the plastic thing you stick in your mouth for two minutes, then send it to a lab. Takes about 48 hours to get the results back.
