The Google Earth Challenge

ITT, we try and locate the source of a photograph using google earth, with only a rough location to go on.

For example, this image:

Was taken in New Orleans. It's fairly distinctive, only took me a few mins to track down the exact source and direction.

BTW I'm uberbored waiting for a compile. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Here's another one. It was taken in Pyongyang.

It's a little hard to recognize it from above so if you can't find it here is a better (satelite) photo: click

Any ideas whast that building is?

Judging by how intimidating the place looks and country it's in, it's probably the place you go "if you've got a fuckin' problem how we're fuckin' runnin' things ya cunts".

This Pyongyang building is not actually a government ministry or a place of terror, but the Yu-kyung hotel.
Construction of the building began in 1987 and was abandoned four years later. Some people say that faulty engineering has left it structurally unsound, and visitors are not allowed to approach it up close.

do you see where there are 4 garage doors to the left of the boat? that is where we setup camp and all our equipment. I took a picture from the same crosswalk from like the same angle with carnival cruise ship that was there providing rooms for all the cityworkers. It is really weird seeing this pictures, especially after sleeping in that same place for 3 weeks when it was a big washed up shithole. I can see the same corner i used to smoke in lol

i'll find the picture i took when i get home. good find
