Multiplayer mode Q3A -n00b question

Hi everyone,
I was cleaning up my stuff at my parents place, and I found my old Q3A cd :D I remember how I used to play in the multiplayer mode like 5 years ago, and wanted to relive old times. However, I didn't find the original CD case so I don't have the CD Key. When I tried the multiplayer mode I didn't find any servers. Is it because I don't have a cd key? Its a mac version and when I play it it does so in mac os 9 (the computer itself has 10.something), so maybe its the internet connection?
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

can't help with no CD key sir. Even if we get you over the first issues, you'll have trouble finding a server to play on without a key as it's still mostly integral to the process.

The best suggestion I can find is to get a key from a friend with the game, after all they're probably not playing it much nowadays.

Alternatively, the id store is still selling the collectors edition Q3. But paying twice would suck.

This game came out in 1999. It's pretty safe to say no one plays the demo online anymore.

Answering 'simple' questions for the nth time is a waste of time. shut the fuck up already.
