Can someone give me a crash course about laptop CPU's? I'm looking to buying a laptop and I noticed that most of them have CPU's either in the 3ghz+ (or amd athlon-m 3400+) range or other CPU's that are around 1.8ghz, but they are really fast or something? Which one is more powerful of these for example:

Intel Centrino 735A 1.70GHz
AMD Turion 64 ML-32 1.8GHz
AMD Turion 64 ML-34 1.8GHz
Intel Centrino 740 1.73GHz
Intel Centrino Duo T2300 1.66GHz
AMD Mobile Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2GHz

The laptops that have those are all in the same price range I'm looking at, around $1000 CAD, but I'd like to know which CPU's are the best for power and also less battery use.

Not desktop replacement, I need a 14" laptop that I will bring with me to school and go on the net/watch tv shows and movies with, as well as other stuff occasionally like post processing some pics probably. Yes, it does need a long battery life, as long as possible.

I've heard the AMD Turion processors are older than the AMD Mobile Athlon ones, is this true?
