Quake3 Demo Multiplayer

Hey,
I was just wondering if Quake3 Arena Demo can actually play multiplayer. I downloaded the update, and set my internet connection in setup, but it still cannot contact the Master Server. If anyone could help me out with this, it would be appreciated.

don't quote me but i think your looking for quake3 version 1.16 servers
don't download the update because i think it will break your quake3 demo installation with an incorrect version of quake3.exe.
i do not think you can update the demo version.
can someone clarify this for me

cool, but I don't believe any of these 3rd-party browsers support

i just downloaded gamespy3d trial version
http://www.gamespy3d.com/download/index.shtml
..installed and configured it.
went to this website and downloaded the quake3 demo tab
http://www.gamespy3d.com/download/tq3a.shtml
used the custom tab and now i see 4? demo servers.
other server finding programs may be easier to configure

ase has a ton of built-in filters and it has one for the demo. open the version folder and you'll see it in there

just wondering, gamespy3d=gamespyarcade? can I use the same tab on basic gamespyarcade?

So i downloaded gamespyarcade, scanned for games...Quake3 shows up. I try to play but it says it can't load, config.cfg.
So I guess these servers are full-game servers, and gamespy arcade sucks for autoscan.
Trying 3d...

was also wondering how to install the tab for 3d? When you are scanning for games it gives you the option to make it DEMO ONLY, but full game servers still pop up...still have not successfully joined a Q3A server.

You're aware that the full version can be purchased or ordered for $10 or less, right?

download the custom tab "quake3 demo" then i think in View you can import the custom tab you just downloaded.
un-install the demo the re-install because i think you have patched "quake3 pointrelease" your demo installation and that maybe where your problem is.

Saw one at a local store 2 days ago for $9 US.
