quake 3 - texturing problems

hey, im having a problem wih quake 3 and i was wondering if you guys could give me any help with it.

i used to play q3 on my old computer (p2 350mhz, 192mb ram, 16mb voodoo 3 graphics) and it worked fine, absolutely no problems at all but that comp died about a month ago so i got a "new" comp (p3 733mhz, 320mb ram, the same 16mb voodoo 3 graphics) and im having a major problem with playin quake 3. the problem is with the texturing and the graphics, it seems that some of the textures are disappearing and reappearing where they shouldnt (e.g. i play and i can see the bots im playing against even when theres a wall between us and sometimes i get a texture pop-up right infront of the camera where there isnt even a wall). it just seems that all the textures arent being rendered and ive messed about with all the settings but nothing will rectify it.

anyone got any suggestions? and have any of you guys stumbled across the same problem?

thanks :icon31:

that doesn't sound q3-specific, are you seeing similar problems in other games?

Was UT in software mode or hardware graphics mode?

Try setting UT to OpenGL Hardware graphics mode and see if you see the same problem.

are you using the last official 1.07.00 whql drivers for the voodoo 3 (with the appropiate BIOS settings of the card)?
- worked always fine for me on a duron 900 machine and w98se

Try using the AmigaMerlin drivers: http://www.hwsetup.it/files/download/vi ... 9win9x.exe

Quake III ran fine with those series of drivers on my old system, 500MHz Athlon/128RAM, Voodoo 3.
