Just got a new motherboard for my old pc and I keep getting this error when trying to boot up. It recognizes all the drives and posts up to that point. I've googled it and it keeps coming up with bios upgrade issues. I can't even boot to cd.

For clarification, I get that error and then several lines with L 99 99 99 99 99 99 etc. Fixing to try moving around and leaving out hardware.

ECS KT600-A (yeah I know cheap, but you know....)
AthlonXP 2200+
WD 40gig
WD 30gig
Ultra 400w PSU
XP Home SP2

BTW, can't boot to cd to format drive or anything.

google seems to point to a problem with a hard drives mbr because of a linux problem.

try re-aranging the boot order ..making another drive the boot drive

first "primary" boot device .. you should be able to set that in the bios .

seems to me via google that one of your drives has/had linux installed.

Yessir, I do have linux installed on one of them. I'll change them up and see if that helps.

Changing the boot order lets it boot to xp now. Thanks ax. Now I can reformat and load all the new mb drivers n stuff.
