Things I'd like to be able to do in Windows XP but can't.

Run custom resolutions. I could do this in 98SE. I knew where to add them in the registry. Where to add them

in the registry or even if you can add them in Windows XP I don't know.

Use my backed up colour corrrection presets, backed up from the registry, or maybe I can do this in XP? Do I

just need an older graphics card driver? I can't even find where the current driver stores them. It's an Nvidia

graphics card driver.

The Windows UI as well as most apps are geared towards standard resolutions.

If you monitor or video drivers don't support it then you're out of luck. This isn't a feature in XP (and I can't really blame MS for not including something so useless).

I found it very useful for emulators cause then you could have the scanlines display properly aswell as not have

the graphics stretched or squashed.

Also you could play things like Civilization3 in widescreen.

It basically added in what the video drivers hadn't.

Quake2 could be played in widescreen with Quake2Evolved. It had to be a resolution supported by the desktop.

It wouldn't overlay it over the desktop like Q3A can.
