Well, it's alright. It's a bit troublesome with the alt-fire and the adrenaline bs not to mention the ninja trick jump crap. But I've been playing the demo for sometime and I kinda enjoy it. I still prefer the Quake games though. I ask people on it if they play Quake as well and they state that Quake sucks.
What are you thoughts on it? Think it's worth it to shell out maybe $15 maybe $25 for it?

I bought it for $10 shipped on ebay to play with some old coworkers. I don't really like the weapons or the feel of it though.

What are your opinions on some of its predessecors such as Unreal Tournament 2k3, 99 and the original Unreal, are they any better?

I can see why you would want to play a noob game like Unreal.
You just suck at FPS.

I've acquired some skill so I actually enjoy it most of the time. I usually play ctf though.
What's so noob about it though?

Onslaught is fun shit, even with bots. But for DM/CTF type stuff, I can only play for a minute or two before wanting to pull my hair out.

I used to play for a bit. Onslaught was really something for a while there.
Nowhere near as fun as q3 though...

onslaught rocks, although some more 2 player vehicles would be nice. like a bomber

I could never really get into it. My problem is, I started with Q3 and got used to that level of awesomeness. Every game i've played online since just doesn't cut it.

Amen brother.
The original Unreal Tournament wasn't too bad but I think I only liked it because we would play it during our computer classes in high school and I would own everyone. I brought in Quake 3 and my Razor once and they refused to play it again after the owning I laid down. (Not that I was every really that good, they were just that bad.)

When 07 comes out it would be good to establish a group and play it for a few weeks together at least. That kind of experience will probably get you into it far more.
I spent a lot of time with UT2004 ONS in leagues and such because I found a good group to play with.

Oh for sure, i'll always give the game a chance. It could be the best thing ever afterall. I still have the bitter aftertaste that is Q4 lodged in my throat though, so excuse my apprehension.
But yeah, I need a new online FPS to play. I haven't touched Q3 in months now

I run a UT2K4 server but haven't had the time to play in a couple of months now
IMO some of the community maps are the best of any FPS game that I've seen.

same, but before any of the fat pimply arses of pseudo-magnanimity tries to sit on me - it is a good game, i just don't like it.
keep it installed for
airbucs, which everyone should play.

Bullshit, you're simply a nub at the game.
I'd hammer you 1v1 any day of the week in '04.
