Wnidows XP Home, Office 2000

I screwed something up and now when I try to open Outllook it comes up with a windows installer and a documentviewer thing. Says its looking for documentviewer.msi.

I serached the office disk for this file and it's not there.

Question is, can I somehow retrieve my Outlook files without being able to actually open Outlook. I know the email files from Outllok are in C, etc., local files, app data, ......BUT are the files such as calendar events, notes, etc. that were typed into Outlook in there someplace as well?

They should all be in your .pst file.

Right click on your shortcut and see what it's target location is.
It should be something like: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle

Or you can hold shift while right clicking the shortcut and selecting open with and pointing it to the proper exe.
