Quake3World

Hey all; I am very new at the game tough it has been laying in my closet for 3 years......
Now I installed it and opened up some ports witch was in the manual.
I could play the game direct on internet and when I stopped; I couldn't connect anymore and got the "No response from master server" to see.
Sometimes it works, mostly not. It don't matter if I shut down the firewall.
As I said: I just put in the game and did nothing else.........IS there anything I have to do?
I didn't had to put in a key or something........strange I thought.....
I like the game very much but want to play it online!

Can anyone please help me?

Original master server is down. Maybe try the all seeing eye or gamespy arcade for finding a game.

I have really NO IDEA how that works and how to "fit it in the game"........I suppose it has to go into the game and I have to download it first?

They are seperate programs that download server lists from several masters servers, ping them for you and allow you to see the servers status, what map, how many players, what mod, etc.
When you use the program to connec to a server it launches the game for you.

use another program to find quake3 servers and enable auto-download.

use allseeingeye or gamespy3d
