Quake3World

Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself to the Quake forums for my first post. I have been playing Quake for a long time now, and just got around to actually checking out those little links in the “Quake III Arena\Extras\” folder.

I guess my only real question at the moment is: “Where can I download Quake III mods such as ‘Urban Terror’ and ‘Threewave’?”

I know this might sound like a noob question, or may not, but I really want to know. I had these mods before I rebuilt my computer, and I forgot to save them so… It was so long ago, I forgot where I originally got the mods from in the first place. So if anyone could help me out, it would be much appreciated. :icon25:

Google Urban Terror or Threewave.

And i think theres a thread somewhere around here with links to tons of mods and maps and shit.

Well I followed the link to the Urban Terror place, but it appears there website must have gone down and now all they have are the forums. I posted there asking for a spot, because for some reason I can not find a place to actually download it. If anyone else has been there before and knows a spot to actually download the “Urban Terror” Quake III add-on/Mod could you help me out? Or help me look for it, if you do not mind:

Well I am not sure weather it is actually the game or just an update/patch, because I downloaded 3.5 (The only one I could find at the time) and it looks to me like it is nothing but a patch. There is no .exe file to be found, or at least not to my understanding.

mods don't ship as an exe usually m8, unless its a setup.exe, they're usually bundled into a set of pk3 files (from memory)

One i linked to is the "full installer" which is like 450 megs. Its a full install

Awesome, thanks SOAPboy for all the help. Sorry I did not reply sooner, I have been playing Urban Terror for a while now that it is working. The link you gave me was awesome, full game all the way updated to the newest version and everything! Also, some people ship the .exe file, which makes it easer. The reason so many choose not to is for internet speed purposes, sense the .zip file’s are compact and are far easer/quicker to download. I understand what you mean though, and pretty much you are right. I just expected to see a .exe file inside the .zip folder somewhere, sense it is a game. I did not think that it ran off of the quake3.exe file, which it does.

Edit: Also, I am unable to see anyone’s signatures, including mine. Can someone help me with that? I searched for an option, or clickable box, stating something about “View Signatures”, but did not find one.

That sucks, is it for everyone or a setting somewhere that disables it just for me?

For everyone (people kept putting large shitty images in there sigs so Dave disabled them).

Yeah I can understand that, I have seen plenty of forums like that. Big useless ass signature images that do nothing but take up so much damn space on the post that you can not even read what the hell the guy posted, it pisses me off too.
