my freind is getting a strange error msg in q3 offline while using mapman,im stumped and google draws a blank.
the message is "bad item index 36 on entity" after it crashes

what's mapman?

sounds like he's having a problem with a mod or a map.

if he's not running a mod, one way to diagnose the problem would be to create a folder at the same level as baseq3 and move all of the non-ID files in baseq3 to it (anything that wouldn't have come with a clean, patched install). now run the game and see if the same error occurs (it shouldn't).

if you don't see the error message again, move the files back in a few at a time until you do - then delete or replace that file.

if it's a mod, do the same thing for the mod folder - after checking on any forums for that mod.

there's probably a much quicker/better way of working it out, but that should work.

thanks man,i had him run q3 without mapman and no error,so it must be that mapman has problems with the newer cpma maps:(
btw mapman works really great otherwise,if u like to play offline,it has a nice clean interface!

mapman rocks, indeed. have your buddy try uinstalling/reinstalling. i don't get that error with the newest cpma maps.
