Ok done, its obviously higher poly than it should be, because i made it out of real bricks for a laugh and didn't make just the shape:

(actual lego ship)

EDIT: Just noticed the lower wings are on the wrong way around

Nothing in this section has to be related to Quake you tool. Plus it was a waste of time, which is why I did it, to PASS TIME.

er... this section of the forum is called 'LEM'; Level Editing and MODELLING.

@ odium : that must be one of the earlier designs when lego was just making the move over to these 'kits' they have now (which seem a bit pointless to me from a 'purists' point of view).

They still sell a lot of smaller lego packs like this for a ridiculous amount of money each (I think they're about £9 each).

Disgusting really, for what is just a collection of small plastic chunks. LEGO profit margins must be obscene.

Yeah, it was about £5, and you got 2 tiny little lego ships in one pack. I have 4 packs, lol :D I got them as a jokey gift last christmas, they tok about 5 mins to put together, nothing amazing but they are still fun.

Hah, nice work.

Now I wanna see an animation of the pieces rapidly coming together and then "exploding" with the pieces flying in all directions. :)

lol, 99% of the things on this board can defined as 'a waste of time'.

Anyway, I really like that idea and the execution, odium.

Yeah, probably could have saved some polies if you modelled it as one object (not many though, I think) but this just looks 'right'.

What modelling software do you use?

Call me crazy but...

It looks as if you could scale this up (a lot), flatten out some of the parts that are rounded and you would have a wild space map. Kind of like some of Quint's maps. Of course, you would have to rebuild it to get rid of the extra polys.

PS: I did have multiple beers before posting :icon25:

might be better if he built one (or several) of the lego space bases. with the monorail! :icon30: hah, i've got tons of old lego space sets :icon31:
