I just watched Ichi the Killer. Anyone seen it? Got everything a Jap horror fan wants - good acting, typical Japanese weirdness, plenty of violence and gore. Best Jap horror I've seen since Battle Royale.

If you're into this genre then it's a must see. :icon14:

Yea, that was a pretty good flick. I just watched 3 Extremes tonight, which was pretty good. They were more psycological thriller's, which is a nice break from all those flicks that just make you jump all the time.

Battle Royal was the best horror movie I've ever seen. I need to go see the 2nd one. I heard it wasn't as good, but as long as it has the same amount of blood and gore the 1st one had then I'm set.

Ichi has far more blood and gore. Awesome torture scenes.

I don't really watch asian horror movies, but I do watch Asian Cinema movies allot.
I find them much better than mainstream hollywood stuff.

It has more human and emotion in it, and majority of the stories are meaning full.

But like hollywood's cars explode when touched, in Asian Cinema people tend to defy gravity,
that's a little weird in the beginning.

There are few times when dmmh's presence would benefit a thread, this is one of those times.

Ichi the killer is more like a dark comedy than a horror... but yea, good shit.

There are certainly a lot of comedy elements to it, but it's way more of a horror than a comedy.

The Eye is ok but it becomes more of a thriller halfway through

Eye2 busstop scene freaked me out though

Old Boy isn't horror, it's a good revenge movie. The director's first movie is the only one that is a little closer to horror, but it's still definately drama, and that's "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" Mr., not Ms. That's a movie that will just leave you feeling horrible. I wouldn't call the director a one-trick pony, but it gets obvious the point he always tries to drive home is that revenge and violence beget eachother.

No mention of the original "Ring" yet. It was genuinely creepy, although it's since been plagiarized to hell by Hollywood to the point where it's been spoilt for me.

The hollywood remake was so bad I couldn't understand what was going on, even though I'd seen the original.

Who's having a poke at ratios?
