You are trying to upgrade a hard drive on a laptop computer, what type of PCMCIA is a laptop hard drive?
A. Type I
B. Type II
C. Type III
D> Type IV

Just one that stood out in my mind. There were quite a few about what do with customers and so on, like what should you do first, ask first, what if you are on your way to fix a computer and people start asking you questions, etc

Congrats on the pass.

A buddy of mine took the OS part of that test about 6 months ago and its pretty easy if you're at all familiar with troubleshooting an OS from what he said.

Any clue how much Linux there is on the OS exam? I heard it was harder then the hardware exam. Also any clue about the Network+ exam?

Linux? There is no Linux on the exam, unless it has changed drastically over the years. There used to be DOS questions, but I have heard that they are not there any more...not sure first hand.

The OS part is harder than the hardware part.

The NET+ exam is not even in the same universe as the A+ exam. The A+ is relatively easy. From what I remember the NET+ is quite hard. STUDY, STUDY!

The ease (or lack thereof) of the Network+ exam depends on your experience level. Study hard for it but, more importantly, do as many labs as you can find or make up to get familiar with the subject matter. Finding somewhere to volunteer is also a good way to learn a lot in a short amount of time (think charities and schools). Remember that a cert without the experience to back it is no more than a piece of paper.

Good luck.

Well I am scheduled to take the A+ OS test Wednesday, I am more worried since I hear that it is harder then the A+ Hardware exam, anyone got material that I could study, besides the exam objectives. I would hate to fail and lose the $158.

If you know the principles behind the exam objectives you have nothing to worry about. As I said before, do every lab you can get your hands on as well go over your notes from your study guides (which you should have been taking). Don't stress out too much and resist taking the weak way out by memorizing test answers since all that proves is that you know how to cheat.

I PASSED! woohoo, there were some tricky questions, but I passed. I'm now CompTIA A+ certified, I am happy.
