Nothing to fancy realy, its just being upgraded to run in 1080p as well as 1080i. the next dashboard update will add it in as well as a whole load of new things (new visual menu items and all sorts). I'm hoping we get a web browser too, just for the hell of it.

A browser would indeed be fun for those lazy days in bed. Its not like MS cant make browsers for a living or anything is it.

Yes of course, but theres still the inconvenience of running 2 systems just to play dodgy films [/lazy]

Think of the first xbox (thanks to mods). Thats an awesome multimedia box. MS need to update the 360 media center so it can be used on its own, without the aid of a PC.

well since i have all my music on a seperate machine (which the 360 also connects to), i really dont fancy burning film on a disc all the time. especially when it comes to series :smirk:

My original xbox played copied movies straight out of the box, no chipping needed... I DO miss that :(

Say for example, the last 2 series of Dr. Who I *got hold of* from a certain place. I can fit them onto 2 DL DVD'S. Now it would be handy if the 360 was capable of playing them direct.

I wouldnt even mind if I had to pay for an AVI/XVID/DivX update thru the marketplace.

oh obviously; my point was that streaming is sometimes just more convenient. im pretty sure that once and if they add divx support, it will work both ways
