Dead Rising

Finally finished it. Like all survival horror games, aiming is a pain in the arse and there's a bunch of wierd japanese conceits in there (including a white character who's obviously been mo-capped off a japanese woman and therefore has completely bizarro body language). Unlike all survival horror games apart from Silent Hill 2 (and, apparently, RE4 although I've never played it), it's absolutely fricking awesome:
- graphics are sharp as anything
- utterly silly plot
- insane numbers of zombies
- great sound design; surprisingly good voice acting
- humour is often very subtle, always spot on and very true-to-genre
- best control system of any survival horror game (not saying much I know)
- huge variety of things to do: if you don't enjoy stabbling a zombie with a rotavator, spinning it up and using its flailing limbs to knock down other zombies, you're dead inside
First truly next gen game for the 360

Ney, in the next-gen department, I'd say Tomb Raider Legend and NHL 07 hold the top honours.

If the demo's anything to go by, Tomb Raider Legend has a shitty framerate. Dead rising is smooth as anything with literally hundreds of characters on screen (even is all they do is wander around and spaz out). Definitely couldn't have done it on any other console to date

i enjoyed the game for a bit, but then got a little tired of it. I considered it a great 1-2 week rental game.

funny you should call it that since it's the only one that has a big boob chick as the main character, instead of the usual ripped sexy guys you see on most other games, who's the homo? :icon32:

The only Tomb Raider game I ever enjoyed was the first one.
The rest were just disappointing

I played and finished Tomb Raider: Legends on a rental period, I wouldn't really pay $50 for it, but it was a worthy rental. The best part of it are the controls, which are great controls, especially over the failures of the other controls of Tomb Raider.

Will Dead Rising ever hit PC or is it an exclusive type thing?

A lot of people complained about the PC controls, but the settings I'm using now are more effective than any old gamepad.

Some of Capcom's exclusives are more exclusive than others, but very few of them make it to PC as far as I can remember.
