long story short I installed the fifa 07 demo on my bros laptop, and the first time i ran it it ran normal, but when I restarted the pc and ran it again the fucking game was running like it was on speed. I don't know how to explain it I never seen anything like this. I am 99% sure there is no such speed setting in the demo, so wtf gives?

is this some gay laptop thing? I dunno I am running out of ideas, this laptop is running a 64 bit processor, but I'm sure the game is compatible it just came out.


any suggestions?

found the problem

"Start the game then whilst its loading ctrl/alt/delete to get the task manager. click on the processes tab then find your game in the list, Right click on it and select "Set Affinity" choose your prefered core and untick the other."


it has something to do with dual core cpu's and some funky out of sink cpu timing ...

I'm sure other ppeps have dual core here, weird how it never came up, I must say that's a weird fucking problem to have and kind of a lame setback, so now I'm stuck using only half the cpu I have available :icon27:

errm it's late and I am tired so uhm yeah the dual thing wasn't it, it has to do with some power options when it comes to the 64 bit amd chip....interestingly enough bot dual core an d64 bit cpu's suffer from the same speed anomaly, and both have their own fixes.
