This starts October 14th and there is no minimum team restriction. It's much simpler and more fun methinks.
Remember there's a salary cap so go easy on the Ovechkin

The draft is probably the most important day of the fantasy hockey season. Contestants that have a strong draft will most likely find themselves at the top of the standings during the regular season. NHL.com Fantasy Hockey offers a multi-list automated draft for all leagues. Each team will draft a roster of 16 athletes during the draft. Athletes may only be drafted at the position listed on the online player list. All un-drafted athletes become free agents following the draft and can be acquired by any team on a first-come, first-served basis. Drafts for all leagues are processed on different days throughout the pre-season. Draft rankings must be prepared by 11:59 PM CT on the day before each team's appointed draft day. All drafts are processed overnight and rosters available the next morning on the day scheduled. Owners do not need to be online for their drafts. In the multi-list draft, you'll rank athletes at each of the five positions. In addition, you will designate which rounds you want to draft players at each position. For example, you can designate that you want to draft Centers in rounds #1 and #2, a Defenseman in round #3, and so on. Then, when the draft is processed, you will be given your highest ranked Center remaining in round #1 and round #2, your highest ranked Defenseman remaining in round #3 and so on. The categories from which you will be drafting, the number of athletes you will draft in each category, and the number of athletes in each category you need to rank are as follows:
Nope, you just need to select the draft rankings to get the players that you want.

But that's too much work.

there... my draft is setup.
that list method is rather anoying; would have been nice to have a run through all the teams picking people off them and doing an order with that compiled list.

Why don't you find a league that we can do a live draft and I'm in. I don't have the time to organize massive lists of people, and frankly I don't find it that interesting to do. A live draft is much more interesting, and in reality less time consuming.

The roster selection is very nice, just a simple drag and drop and you're done. I'm finished with $0.21M left in my cap.
