damage question

Hi I have a question about damage, I saw that in pak0 are the botfiles in witch you can adjust the skills of a bot, I tried to change that xaero would only use machinegun and gauntlet and that worked, this way it's a good practise for my aim to play quake 3 with just machinegun, but there is 1 more thing i really would like to change, thats the amount of damage given by a machinegun bullet, I found the file weap_c in pak0 in witch I found that the damage was set to 8 but changing it wouldn't work, so am I doing something wrong or someone have another option? thx in advance

Download customquake3, and screw around with that mod. You can change just about anything you want. The hitbox size, the size of players, the size of players' heads, damage, how much bullets the mg shoots at once.

All sorts of things. You'd like it for practice, I think.

thx alot ganemi, although I dont get it to work :P I downloaded CustomQ3 and extracted the archive to my quake3 map and first on their site they say load the mod by opening the mod menu ??? or running the batch file, when i do that it doesnt load a map like it should do but just goes to the main menu but when i try to start anything like a server or singleplayer game it goes back to main menu :(

edit: seems like the mod doesnt load, because the commands dont work either, and I've found in console after running the batchfile a line saying, fs_game is write protected

No, full version, but i got the mod working :D i just needed the right update thanks alot its great :)
