Not seeing servers? "Read here"

Found this on another forum thought i'd share it.
I found for me the first time i tried this it only worked once so if this happens to you this might be the only alternative which worked for me over & over.
This drove me nuts for days & i've seen many people with the same problem may wanna pin this.
Again this is a fix for Quake 4 may want to move it to the proper place.
Only thing about this post that i did'nt find was this file autoexec.cfg, but i found the other one he mentioned i found 2 of them & edited both of them & put the line at the bottom, & servers appeared for mekubato wrote:Found this article on another forum it worked for me for Quake 4
I have been pulling my hair out over this one and even gave up on playing Quake 4 online. I was so stupid not to do this but, just played Unreal Tournament 2004 more. I am posting this so other users having problems will not run into this issue. The problem: When you go to join server in Quake 4, no servers show up. Most, even I, thought it was a router issue but, no our friends at either Activision or Id Software left out a line of code in the autoexec.cfg and or the quake4config.cfg. I put this in both because I have really been bothered by this.
Add this exact line:
seta net_master0 "192.246.40.28:27650"
That’s it, done it works.
FYI The above is the ip of the Id Software master authorization server.
The DNS name of the server is q4master.idsoftware.com
Just in case they change the name do a tracert q4master.idsoftware.com.
