I just got downloading it, it seems okay, no bugs that I've found yet.
But it doesn't seem to be much of an improvement over 1.5.
The spell checker is kinda handy though.
Anyone here have it yet, if you do, what do you think of it?

1.5 is still good for me and I don't wanna run the risk of having all my extensions borked again so I'll hold out with upgrading until it's an official release.

Any extensions worth their salt are upgraded within days of each beta release. I don't use a lot of them, but the ones I have are still going strong. The auto-update extension feature is pretty awesome.

Have been using Firefox 2 for a month and a half now, its great. Absolutely no problems or crashes. Smooth as a knife trough butter.
And what i love about it is how minimalistic the interface is and yet a very powerful and intuitive.
Fuck the IE, I am never looking back.

Nearly every extension can be made compatible using
http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/we ... ox/nightly - install it, right click on non-working extensions and click 'make compatible' .
The spell checker is very handy.

Heh, I did that with the kickass
MR Tech Local Install extension, which comes with a lot of neat features (including the "Make Compatible" XPI install via
Nightly Tester Tool)

Shit that's a great tool, thanks Mr. Killer :icon14:
I'm on the 2.0 beta release update path, and although I only run a few extensions, having to manually change the MaxVersion every time I update was getting to be a pain - it was just infrequent enough that I'd forget which file it was in to edit when the time came around
Also spell checker is win, though they need to make running an English UK dictionary more straightforwards than it currently is.

bookmarks are stored in a separate folder, which iirc is somewhere in your documents & settings folder. it's not overwritten by upgrades, nor is it deleted when FF is uninstalled

Well, I've been using it since last night, no problems, no crashes or anything, and I'm really starting to like this spell checker
I think they fixed the memory problem too. Which is nice for people who use firefox on older machines with less RAM.

What's all the ruckus about FF 2.0? I really don't see a difference beyond spell checker.
Oh! And Google is in the top right. That is pretty sweet.

There isn't really a ruckus. A couple of threads.

Have they fixed any problems associated with opening .pdf files? FF nearly kills my computer every time I click on a link to one.
Also, not a fan of the new theme, but some guy was nice enough to release a skin of the old one.

Pop into your FF preferences and chance the PDF association to 'open with external viewer'. Problem solved.

firefox only has options...no preferences...just saying...
