Once upon a time, long ago, i had a flash of brilliance. A sudden insight, you might call it: it was a radical idea to feed the homeless, eradicate the plague of flying rats and make a mean profit on the side.

The first step was applying for a city council subsidy to feed the homeless. The second was applying for same, but for eradicating excess pigeons. With about half of the money i would then rent one of those fast food like joints, with easy to clean steel cooking apparatuses. With the rest of the money i'd set up shop next door, in the form of a pest control pigeon hunting company. I'd purchase harpoons, nets, tridents, bullhorns and short range flame throwers.

The next step would have been recruiting personel. Where better to look than to tap directly into the market and ask the homeless themselves? "I can't pay you much" i'd say: "But i can offer you free meals for as long as you work here." They'd come running, i just know it.

I'd then put my little army of homeless to work. The gentle ones could do the cooking, the agressive ones the hunting. They'd feed themselves and keep each other occupied in the process - and the subsidies would go directly into my pocket!
