getting clients to spectate before joining a team..

I'm running a Q4MAX CTF server and I'd like to have clients spectate before joining a team. For some reason Q4 automatically sends connection clients to the winning team :icon27:
Does anyone know what cvar will make clients go to spec before joining a team?

I'm not sure there's much that can be done,
seta si_autobalance "1" //maintain even teams
used to behave strangely, but it may be worth setting it to see if it improves things ....
I'd suggest the
q4max forums to see if they can help (afaik there is not currently a cvar to do this, but they are open to suggestions/ideas)

We've got that covered in the next release - no eta, other than "soon, hopefully", though.

the cvar was implemented before it'd been asked for :icon28:
