what is the default processor affinity for xp with a dual core system? i changed quake3.exe, which was only set to cpu0 in taskmanager, to both and now i cant get it to go back to just the 1 cpu. i dont know if every process was set to both cpus but q3 definitalty was not. this is with r_smp 1, dont know if that matters.

anyway, im getting like 10fps in q3 now and even when i uncheck cpu1 for quake3.exe it hangs when i quit or disconnect.

reinstalled and still fucked up. q4 runs fine btw and system generally seems ok, no slow downs.

alright, reinstalled nforce and display drivers after updating amd driver and everything seems to be working ok though i do get fluctuations in timedemo between 300 and 560+ fps. should i bother with the amd dual core optimizer or not?

Hmm, I've never had any problems with having affinity to both CPU 0 and 1. Only problems I could think of were for KOTOR II which was immediately fixed by installing dual-core compatible GeForce drivers for my card.
