Wow.. my other topic was locked. I feel dirty.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. Now, however, I have a completely different question:
I want to install XP on my MacBook, but I don't intend to keep it there forever. I'd like to be able to take it off in a little while so I can use it for another machine. From what I understand, you can uninstall Windows and reinstall on a new machine, although you might have to call MS to get the new install activated.
Is this true? Can you get around the "One Copy per Processor" rule this way?
I've never tried reactivating windows on a new machine, and I'd hate to waste a perfectly good copy of XP Pro on a Mac...

What you're saying is true as long as it isn't an OEM copy. OEM copies are bound to the original hardware so MS might (and that's a very small chance) give you hassles but even that is doubtful, especially if you tell them its simply a replacement on failed hardware. Retail copies have no such restrictions in the licensing legalese.

No worries about locking it; like you said, my question was answered. I learned what I needed to know.

Anyway, thanks for answering this one, too. It's not OEM, so I should be ok. Just wanted to make sure before I screw myself over.

There's a program for the mac that can run windows while still running the mac os.
You need the cd in the drive to do this though.
