Nero and DMA

I have a freind who has an older cdrw and a new cdrw. The new cdrw is the master and the old one is the slave.

When he starts nero [6] and goes to burn anything, it goes to the old cdrw by default it seems. Is that because it is older and not dma capable? He gets the "not in dma mode" or whatever when nero first starts.

I cant see a setting to change which drive it defaults to.

The older drive is "D" and the new one is "W". Does this matter?

you must be using Nero Express. change to Nero Burning Rom then go to Recorder>Choose Recorder.

If you haven't already, get him to check that DMA is enabled in his BIOS. *shrug*

It seems that the disk that came with the new burner has Nero smartstart which is Nero express, I guess.

Doesnt seem to have nero burning rom. Any other suggestions?

Why is it picking the slave to default to...because of the dma thing.
