How to keep connection going on lappy w/ standby?

When the sucker goes to standby the connection drops. I have gone to device manager/network card and disabled the 'save power mode' and 'wake computer with network activity', didn't seem to do a thing.

Standby is supposed to shut down network connections since it puts the system into a suspended state. Your best bet is to disable auto-standby and just set the power options to shut off the monitor, rather than suspend the entire laptop, after a period of time.

can you just set it to sleep instead, i am pritty sure that it would allw WOP to work.

I think I'll just disable it then.
Amida, do you mean hibernate? Sleep in vista = standby. It's the confuzzling! ;o
