My Pictures folder has terrible image loading time

Whenever I view - thumbnails in the "My Pictures" folder, they load at normal speed, but when I double click them to view in wondows preview thing, they take up for 10 seconds to load one picture. Everywhere else the pictures load instantly. Just curious to what causes this

Download and install Google Picasa.

It could be caused by a large amount of files or large file sizes.

this has happend to me before also. not sure whats going on there, but
this has helped.
you might try reloading the viewer also:
