At a friend's recommendation, I'm about to crack open one of these:

It was a toss-up between this and Spaaten Optimator. The 9% alcohol carried the day.

I was looking at some of that too. Maybe I should have grabbed a six. The Spaaten that is.

*burp* Forgot to mention, I just returned from the Flying Saucer, where I downed three of these babies:

They're great, but $9 a bottle is nuts.

thought about some of that Python's too but wasn't sure if the novelty factor would pay off or disappoint.

I'm having a hard time finding Sam Adams other than Light, Boston Lager, or Cherry Wheat. Fucking lame ass Coors and Bud town.

It's easy to miss. I'd walked right past it I don't know how many times. If my friend hadn't told me to look for it I don't know if I'd have noticed it. Comes in a black four pack, silver foil on the caps.

Caution: There's yeast at the bottom of the bottle. It should stay there.

Thanks for the tip. :icon14:

Lately I've been trying to get something different each time I go to the liquor store in addition to my usual Shiner Bock. This time it was the Dunkelweizen. There were several others I wanted to try. The Spaaten was one. Fat Tyre was another. Shit several looked good. Recently I tried Shiner Hefeweizen recommended by ForM and wasn't disappointed. Can't believe I ever drank Bud or any of that. :puke:

Have either of you happened to try any beers from Flying Dog?

They make some high-gravity beers that I thought tasted pretty good, but I haven't really developed a particularly distinguishing taste for beer yet.
