defrag error

When loading certain maps such as per-izi and q3trap I can no longer startup defrag or load the maps. Instead I get the error:

"recursive error after: Couldn't load scripts/museum.shader"

Image

I've tried a fresh install of defrag but it didn't work. The only way I can get defrag to work again is deleting both maps from my baseq3, though obviously I'd still like to play these maps and get to the bottom of this. :)

You're probably going to have a hard time getting it to work because this error is most often caused by a corrupted pk3. Unzipping and rezipping the faulty file sometimes helps (but usually doesn't).

Hmm, well others can get onto the map(s) fine so I figured it was something my end.

Ok, it seems to be everytime I download a new map from here. Weird.

Oh sorry, I'm not saying it's jamsters that's the problem. I know it's not. I'm just saying that everytime I download a new map, I get the error.

A few days ago everything worked fine, it's just ever since I downloaded the map q3trap from jamsters. :)

I would delete q3trap to find out if it solves things.

Your q3trap is probably a corrupt map unless you can give me proof that other people also play it and have records for it.

There were about 4 people on the Minnies server playing it at the time, so I figured it was my problem - not the map.

Are you using a download accelerator or something like that.

If yes try using the downloader that comes built in Internet Explorer.

quake3\baseq3\maps\shaderlist.txt

edit shaderlist.txt and see if museum shows up.
if so add
// before museum

OR

someone who made the map has an error in their script and you will have to weed out the offending map.

i assume your missing the museum map that came with Radiant "the quake3 map editor" and the map maker used some textures/shader from that map and didn't include it in his homemade map.

No such file? :(

Edit: Ah, I guess you mean quake 3\baseq3\scripts\shaderlist.txt

Hehe :icon32:

edit: and theres no museum in there at all, so I guess I should add "//museum" to the list?

edit2: Still doesn't work. :/

edit3: Survivor tried sending me museum.shader, I overwrote the old one, but it still doesn't work.

download an old version of radiant 2.02.

quake3 map editor ..included is the museum map.
that might fix the bad shader or missing texture

What I don't understand is that I have museum.map and .shader and I haven't touched radiant for ages, defrag only stopped working after downloading the map q3trap.

Edit: Also, I cannot run cpma, though I can run freeze...

Wait... I think i just fixed it, by uninstalling radiant. :s
