Q3 Problems

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to Quake fans everywhere.
I got The Ultimate Quake set today and installed all the games. Now, while that went well, for some reason, Quake 3 isn't saving any of the options, I have to keep putting the cd key in everytime i start start it up. I tried putting it in during a skirmish and while the cd key was accepted, it said in the corner "Couldn't write q3config.cfg" and under that it said "Couldn't write baseq3" and uh, it's getting a little frustrating to put in all the specific options 10 million times lol. So, any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the baseq3 directory in your quake3 folder isn't read-only and that point release 1.32 is installed (see the stickies for the relevant links).

Everytime I uncheck the read-only box and i check it again it's always checked. What the hell is going on? lol.
