well he is kinda right though
in the old days, ram was nearly unaffordable, so devs optimized like crazy. nowadays they dont give a fuck anymore. *yea just slap "minimum 2 gigs of ram required" on there. its only $40 extra*

It is true. On my computer from with specs from 2000 running on XP things are a LOT slower now. Look at CS, it used to run butter smooth, now its choppy. The same videos that ran butter smooth on the computer are now choppy as shit on the "new" media players.
He is completely right.

Not only memory, but filesize as well. Look at stuff like Quicktime. Download the installer and you'll be looking at a 70 meg install. 70 megs for a goddamn media player!
