Next paycheck I'll have enough for a new LCD., but I have never owned one and still have a 5 year old 15'crt lol. I was thinking about this one ViewSonic VG2230wm Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen

My question is will my video card work with it? I have the 9800xt that supports these resolutions.

800 x 600
1024 x768
1280 x 1024
1600x 1200

I don't know jack about them but have been doing some reading, but I 'm just stuck on will my card work or not.

Widescreen resolutions are usually disabled unless you have a widescreen monitor plugged in. The full range of supported resolutions are here:

Just use an app to force custom resolutions into the registry... I think coolbits does the job (or summat other). And gwamps you big nerd what if he doesn't care about playing games on it?

Back up here, your resolutins choises are limmited by the monitor that is plugged in, you will be fine!

the PNP Part of the new monitor will tell the videocard what res to use..

Fyi: i had a 9800, and it was able to do 1920X1200 Easly with no slowdowns or color issues..

Well when I look at my vid settings I see this

I don't use the dmi port just the vga. I'll use it when it comes though.

I was also thinking of getting this card anyways. Since agp users are limited I figured this is the best one out their.
