IE7 Issue

I've noticed since upgrading to IE7 that when I click links in email, internet shortcuts, anything that should open a new browser instead redirects from any current page I have open. I have the tabbed browsing disabled because I just don't like it and I notice that when you click disable it greys out the part that tells IE7 how to handle opening links from the desktop. I'm looking for a solution, not a workaround. Workaround being getting FF, solution being making IE7 open desktop links in a new window.

the tab preferences dont work as they should. i have it set to open every link from another application in a new tab and it stubbornly opens up a whole new window every time \o/ :@

however, what youre looking for is in Internet Options / Advanced tab / Go to the Browsing bit and uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts (when tabbed browsing is off)"

using FF isn't a workaround, it's just the smart thing to do

IE7 works just fine. Its simply a matter of preference.

ie 7 also has a strange issue with 3rd party, out of town Activex scripts.
Which is why I uninstalled it gosh darn it.
