Erm, can you give a little more context on where you came across the phrase?

Cause "open book" in my vocabulary refers to taking an exam where you're allowed to bring along reference/course materials i.e. "an open-book test".

That and some old OCR software. Google also says that the publisher O'Reilly hosts a project called 'Open Book' which deals with publishing open-copyright tech literature on the web.

Thats all I was told. I assumed it was something like open source.

Someone was talking about doing web site changes and said open book was best. That all I know.
