Again with the master server problem

Hey, are there any reasons why my server wont show up in the master server list, or could some one else try looking??

my config running is this:

server ip is 213.200.95.35:27971 but i wana know if its showing up in the server list within quake 3

also any sugestions to the config would be appreciated.

try using another server finding program like
gamespy or ASE.
ingame browzer may be the problem

I got the same thing happening to one of my servers. I've done everything to fix it.

All seeing Eye will see your server but x-fire and kquery wont. I wonder how ASE gets servers info?

Anyway. you can try this command.

g_gamespy 1

try stopping the server for 30 mins and then starting it again.

set your server to SV_ dedicated "2"

dnone of this helped me for the server I'm having problems with. Also I heard somewhere that if you set the first sv_master1 to anything that it messes it up. dont quote me on that. You'll see that most mod example config.cfg wont have the sv_master1 set. Thats because it's set to idsoftware as default.

As you can see I've googled my ass of trying to fix that on one of my server.

If you do find out how to fix the problem could you post back and tell.

Patience. It often takes over an hour for a server to show up.
Also I heard somewhere that if you set the first sv_master1 to anything that it messes it up. dont quote me on that.
I won't (it's still FUD, though). :p

okay. I rent a server from gameservers and my server is now reporting to the master servers. what I did was type this into remote console or console. remote is better cause it gives you a read out about what the command is doing to your server.

Type this command in....

/killserver

once youve killed the server it will disconnect form the masters. leave the server down for an hour or two and then restart the server. Again this works for rented servers. I dont have a clue about servers being run from home. But I asure you if all else fails (dedicated 2, g_gamespy, setting the sv_masters) this will work.
It worked for me.

I stumbled upon this be mistake. But it works.

for a private server once you kill the server it's killed unless you manually restart it.

Ya. So best not to kill a privte server I guess. In this guyz case I think he got his server from http://www.fps.net. I dont know what kind of control the allow you there. And Again I dont know about privte servers.
