New-Guy Questions: weapons , maps, settings

1) why is the game/hud always so dark when I first run the game? I got a light script in my autoexec.cfg that helps when I actually start playing, but thats only when Im in-game. All other times I have to turn the brightness up on the monitor just to see what Im doing, and even then it's still hard to see anything.
2) What weapon do people use the most to kill and get the most kills?
3) In free-for-all games, what are the top 3 most maps being played right now? In other words, what maps will u always see people in them instead of bots? I want to start practicing on those.
4) If you had only 2 keys on the keyboard, what weapons would you bind to them? And what is your right mouse click currently bound to? My other games I have certain weapons bound to the A and D key and the right mouse button. I assume this game will be no different, and even if it will be a long time before I learn the really skilled techniques, I think I should go ahead and get my binds configured now so I can get used to them quicker.
Any other advice you think is needed, feel free to pass it on and if cant answer all the questions, there is nothing wrong with just answering one
