Spectator Forced Until PB Updates...

Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't see anything under a search, but I just got quake3 and installed. Everything was going smooth except for joining online games. It keeps saying "Spectator Mode Forced Until PB Version Updates"...which I guess would be alright, if PB updated. I waited quite awhile a few times and nothing happened. I installed the newest q3 patch too. I'm running winxp with no firewalls running (3rd party or built-in)...is there any reason why punkbuster wouldn't be updating automatically? I haven't had any problems with it in the past with other FPS games. Thanks in advance.
