How to move Quake 3 window while playing in windowed mode?

i play quake 3 arena in windowed mode, in 800x600, my desktop is 1024x768.

however, the window is off center and is very annoying to play in that position, but i cannot move the window to the center of the screen because quake 3 disable the alt+tab windows shortcut and also the windows key so i cant minimize and drag the window by clicking on the top of the window.

i have a program called Q3E Minimizer_v1.45, but that only allows me to minimize quake 3, NOT click and move the window.

is there anyway to move the quake 3 window while playing in windowed mode?!

hit the tiltkey ~ (open the console)

(But I don't use minimizer)

press the windows key or ctrl+alt+del to take focus away from the q3 window.

right-click on the bar at the top of the q3 window (not left-click, don't let the q3 window take focus).

from the right-click menu, select move - now move the window where you want it.

edit: re-reading your post - don't use the minimiser while you're following the steps above. windows should remember where you left the window, so you can go back to using the minimiser afterwards.

Yeah, just use the tilde ~ and bring down the console like cyane suggested. You can move it easily. Even with minimizer.

Sometimes If you just move your mouse up and to the left you can get the focus to move away from the quake3 window.

It might have to do with what version you play. I dunno.

thank you guys very much i was able to successfully move the quake 3 window using the ~ key and then dragging it into the center, and yes windows does remember where the window was placed.

thanks again. i feel that i play better in a window, because i dont have to move focus of my eyes to see everything like i do with fullscreen.

yeah, I've played in windowed mode before.

The game looks fine but everything on the desktop is crazy bright, so it's kinda distracting.

Set the game to fullscreen and increase the value of cg_fov to something like 120.

You'll get the benefit of seeing everything in that smaller windowed area, plus the added benefit of extra viewing angle all around the edge.

Use the command r_ignorehwgamma "1" & that should solve the desktop background gamma issue.

That command ignores your graphic card gamma settings & uses Q3's instead. I also play Q3 in a window.

i thought the gamma thing ignores Q3s gamma and uses your computers native colour. meh...
