I am having a bitch of a time connecting my computer to my XBox 360. I have XP Pro with SP2 and Windows Media Player 11. I can see the 360 from WMP 11 and allow my media to be shared with it. When I try and connect from my 360 it says it can't find any such computer. My 360 is connected via ethernet to my router and my computer is connected via a wireless adapter which is connected to my computer via ethernet. Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Don't you need windows media center for this to work? Or media center extensions/windows connect or something, I still haven't attempted on connecting the pc to the 360 so I'm not sure.

It says all it needs is a Windows XP-based computer. The Windows Media Connect was what was used before Windows Media Player 11 and WMP 11 will unstall WMC.

Have you opened these ports to the 360?

All of those ports were in the Windows Firewall exception list and they were checked.

Well there are no true setting for my router's firewall, I can set up DMZs, but that doesn't really have to do with this I don't think.

follow this guide, but use the port info from the MS link above:

I tried that guide Sevensins, nothing changed. WMP still sees the 360 and the 360 can't connect.
