Need some help.

Hi, I'm new to this whole Quake 3 scene.

I recently downloaded the Quake 3 demo and have been playing with some friends over Hamachi.

In my ingame settings, I have turned my brightness up full yet the game is still extremly dark. Is there anything else I have to change or is it just the demo? (Oh, my monitor brightness is on FULL and its fine for any other game.)

I'm also wondering how I can bind mwheeldown to jump. I'm sure its simple, I just don't know exactly how to do it. In the options it doesn't seem to detect it when I scroll so I'm sure I can just bind it thought console or put something in my config.

One more thing, it may be because I don't have the full version of the game, but MOUSE3 zooms in for me. I have changed it to MOUSE2 in options, but when I press MOUSE3, it still zoomes in. Is there anyway to fix this without purchasing the full version of the game?

Any help is appretiated.

Might be a mouse driver issue but as I recall, older versions of Q3 (the demo is PR 1.11 which equals ancient) indeed have trouble with the mouse wheel. Is there by any chance a joystick hooked up to your rig?

Nope, No joystick hooked up.

I have a Logitech G5 Mouse if that helps.

the mouse may be too new and flashy for the old school demo youre playing. Get the full version of Quake 3 and then try.
