Well I tried to add a new song to my iTunes library and it just won't add. I google for it and one suggestion was to check if it the library file was read-only, so I did and it was. I unchecked the read-only attribute that was on all of my documents and it didn't take. I restarted and it was still read-only. So my questions are how mgiht have these files and folders gotten to be read-only and why can't I (admin account) remove this attribute?

Once you remove the attribute you have to go into the advanced file permissions and select 'propogate to child entries'. Otherwise the files in the folder wont have their permissions changed.

How might I do that Foo, I don't see advanced file permissions. I am on Windows XP btw, not OSX. I found this. I tried that to no avail. Anyone got anything else?
Also read this, said to be for XP, no really useful information on how to fix this problem.

Ok, the song I am trying to add is the theme to Psych, which you can download from USA's website. Well I was checking the properties of the song and it said that it was from the internet and could be unsafe so it was "blocked" I clicked the unblock box and it did so. Still couldn't add it. I tried to add move the song and add it from another folder, still nothing. Then I got a song from my sister and it added with no problems.

The file was partially corrupt, it skipped a lot in MPC. I found a different version that works, no more problems.
