You make the assumption that demos cannot be played with a different PR, which is flawed. Q4Max demos from 1.1 to 1.3 could all be played with q4max 0.77 (for 1.3).
(we chose not to support the old versions in 1.4 as we made too many netcode protocol changes to make it practical to maintain compatibility)

- demo protocol issues aside, I hope this is a successful as the pk4 hosting was
I do have an immense collection of demos, although as most of these are chasedemo's, they are a little jerky :icon23: - so I'll keep them to myself atm.
Be interesting to test the serverside demo's again tho ...
