That website is so crap.
The bit where the page auto-loads is ridiculous. No-where near enough time to read each page. And auto-loading is just stupid; everyone reads at different speeds and the speed adjustment option is useless if the page has already auto-loaded the next page. The pages load too slowly anyway so going back is a real pain.

I'm not too sure about those numbers, either.
I already know for a fact that a game that costs...say....$7 million to develop will cost AT LEAST that amount in marketing. It's quite common to spend more money on marketing than development. But the numbers on that site show much lower values.
And to say that 1/4 of all money lines in video game purchases go to the artists is laughable. That's a complete load of shit since artists are some of the lowest paid positions (in comparison to programmers, producers, technical directors, creative directors, CEO, CFO, COO, etc)
Who'd they ask regarding these numbers....odium?

Programmers don't earn that much either. I'm working as a business application developer nowadays and my salary's nearly triple to what it used to be.

In my economy course at the univeristy, our teacher told us that the advertise is about 10% of the item cost.

Surely you don't think it's the same ratio across all industries?

The entire games industry is having trouble getting good programmers when - like you've shown - they can get alot of money elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the games business still seem to rely on the fact that many young artists and programmers rather work in the "cool" games industry than in some dull old IT business, and happily accept lower wages and shitty work conditions because of that.
