Well... sorta, for now at least.
After receiving a thousand emails in a single day, Activision are currently swamped with applications by clans to join the ET:QW Closed Beta Test. Many thanks to all those that took the trouble to apply. We’ll keep you posted if and when any further slots become available.

Wish someone would have posted about it here. Shit went up fast.
But at the end of the day they are looking for public feedback it seems.
And btw in case you didn't know, a closed beta is already in the hands of some people...

Limited PUBLIC beta has been confirmed for mid-april...
For gamers dying to check out Quake Wars themselves, the good news is that a limited public beta (maybe 50,000-60,000 people) is scheduled to come to Fileplanet in mid-April.

Pfff, closed beta this, closed beta that. Why don't they just upload a beta which everyone can download just like in the Quake 3 days? Didn't happen after the RTCW multiplayer test anymore. Bugger that.

There will be many stages of closed betas, an soon open betas where you just "download and go". Following the betas there should then be a demo available before the game is released.

I don't like the term beta on id software games, can you call it a Test like the good ol' times?

I won't be able to play this until I save up enough money to build another computer.
I get around 10-15fps on Quake 4 / Doom 3.
