ok this is an extreme pet peeve of mine, but whenever somebody at my house leaves internet explorer running (i use firefox) after awhile the icon on the dock starts to bounce! if i right click it and tell it to quit it won't let me and i HAVE to click that damn thing to get it to stop.. when i click it it opens a new window in IE and it pisses me off so bad. grrrr. is there anything i can do to make it stop this? and i can't delete it because the rest of my family uses it. so don't suggest it. don't.

Right-click the IE icon, choose "show in finder", highlight the icon, press apple-delete, right-click the trash and select empty trash.

Have you considered getting yourself adopted by a family that don't use explorer? It's an option, after all
